Aspen’s portfolio of capabilities, its high tech leadership with one-to-one marketing, was recognized as pioneering. Aspen’s success as a data-driven marketing leader led to the acquisition of its technology by Epsilon Global and its subsequent roll up in 2019 by Publicis, one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing companies.

The Bioneers, for over thirty years bringing transformative change via an environmental network stretching across the globe. Since its start up in Santa Fe, our M Channel founder has been a supporter, providing services beginning with the publishing the Bioneers story with Seeds of Change, and assisting in multiple initiatives and strategic ventures.
Our work has ranged from planning and consulting to dealmaking and contracts. Recently we prepared a Strategic Plan for Bioneers international and online expansion.
Beginning with our original work to establish a publishing division for the company in Santa Fe, our M Channel founder packaged and sold several of the largest environmental books in publishing history. The Bioneers have become a preeminent global ecological network, and include many notable thinkers and doers in the Bioneers network, including Kenny Ausubel (co-founder), Nina Simons (co-founder), Chief Oren Lyons, Leonardo DiCaprio, Varshini Prakash (Sunrise Movement), Bill McKibben (350.org), Paul Hawken (Drawdown project), Naomi Klein (This Changes Everything), Michael Pollan (Second Nature), Winona LaDuke (Honor the Earth/Green Party) and many more who are stepping up to change the world for the better.

Our founder, Steve Schmidt, was a senior advisor to California Governor Jerry Brown in the 1992 presidential campaign and developed the campaign’s platform with the Governor.
In 1994, after a campaign for Lieutenant Governor in New Mexico, Steve was appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature to serve on the New Mexico State Board of Education, a constitutional position responsible for policy and management of K-12 education with oversight of approximately half the state’s budget. He led multiple initiatives as the SBE’s technology expert, representing the state in creating the Western Governors University, establishing a full-tuition scholarship program, re-doing the state’s educational funding system via a New MAP program, and establishing a K-16 strategic plan.
In the mid-1990s Steve began work to organize a “serious, credible” FEC-approved national Green Party and went on to become, as platform chair from 1995-2000, a principal drafter of the founding platform of the US Green Party. He extended this work by drafting an initial “common ground” platform with the European Federation of Green Parties, traveling to Paris for the common ground platform’s European approval, represented US Greens at the founding meeting in Rome of the European Green Party, and was a key participant in the adoption of the first Global Green Charter.
Steve moved on from active political work in 2001 and in Florida he managed interactive business at Aspen Marketing. In his current work, as a director of M Channel/MCO, Steve manages interactive programs and client initiatives, and brings to each best practices in creative media, business, IP, IT technology and politics.
